I've decided that I am going to get a Bonsai Reef going for my daughter and I. Originally I was going to put this in my daughters room but later decided to stick it in the back corner or our living room.
99.9% of the livestock will be aquacultured ORA. Mostly from my stock. I will also be getting a few new pieces that I have wanted and growing them out. This should be a simple build and move very quickly.
Tank-
Oceanic 29gal. HQI Biocube and stand.
Supplies -
JB Water Weld
Superglue
Rods-for rockwork
75w Heater
Vortech MP10
Light timer
Power Strip
I used 3 rocks from a very established system for the rockwork. The bottom rock is completely covered in coraline. The water that I used to fill the tank up with was also from a very established system. So this should cycle very quick.
I am going to upgrade the light to either a 150w 14k Phoenix or a 20k Radium bulb. Right now I am leaning toward the 20k Radium after reading up about the PAR, growth, color, etc. with this bulb. Only issue will be changing the bulb out every 6 months.
My maintenance routine will be a 5-10% weekly w/c as I will not be using a skimmer on this system. Tank will be barebottom. Alk, Ca. and Mag will be maintained via water changes and 2-part if need be. Chaeto will be used in the refugium.
Stock List
Fish
ORA Yellow Assessor
Six line Wrasse
Corals
I have not put together the final list of corals yet. There will be about 15 small colonies and frags. Here is what I am thinking so far.
ORA Birds of Paradise
ORA Red Planet
ORA Tricolor Valida
ORA Verde Acro
ORA Plum Crazy
ORA Hawkins Enchinata
ORA Ice Tort
ORA Bellina
ORA Phils Granulosa
ORA Purple Rim Cap
ORA Purple Nana
ORA Chips
ORA Marshall Island Yellow Fuzzy
ORA Joe the Coral
ORA Jeremy's Green Montilpora Stellata
ORA Pearlberry
Tank is up and running as of yesterday afternoon.

The Inspiration - Hope you don't mind me using your pic Crazy4Acros
Should be fun. Stay tuned for further updates
