2ft green carpet anemone

Hey guys and gals,

So I have a situation. A while back I was gifted a very small green carpet anemone and as a baby reefer I was ignorant to how big these things get. Long story short I now have a 2ft wide anemone and I only have a 75g tank. My lfs is currently holding it for me but I am in a predicament where I either have to sell or upgrade. In yalls experience what is a good tank size for this anemone to not be big without breaking my wallet. I am also worried about this fish eating my gorgeous wrasses that I love so much. So should I just sell it? Any advice is much appreciated.

I really like large cube tanks for these types of nems. What kind of carpet is it? I'm more partial to green gigantea than haddoni, but it's just personal preference. What color green is your carpet? If a neon green, I'd be more likely to hold onto it versus a pale or olive or dark green one. But again, that's just my preference.

photo. fully open the anemone is about 17" across

Yes -- it's a haddoni. Now imagine that in the center of a 36" x 36" cube. Wouldn't that look nice? :inlove:

Base on my experience, haddoni will eat fish that get caught by it. For that size of haddoni, I wouldn't recommend you to keep it with expensive fish beside clowns unless you go with 200+ gals. Then there will still be chances that your fish get eaten but less.

looks like I'll be leaning towards selling it. I don't use this forum a lot is there a particular forum for selling?

A cube for it would be amazing with a clown harem, what to do what to do?!?! :headwally: how many posts do i need to access the sale forum?

depending on where you live, it might be easier to sell/buy at your local reef club forum.

there's no rules on post #s to sell. and all the folks will be local.

a carpet that size getting shipped is a pain. ton of water. will cost you $100+ on shipping if you don't have an account. then you have a good chance of killing it during shipment/acclimation.. Haddoni is hardier than Gig on shipping. alot depends on how well you package
