3 tank,2600 gal. system room build

Paul is a great guy and will spend the time to get the system the way the customer wants. I've never had better service from a company in ANY industry.

Yep, Paul will hook you up with exactly what you need, OM a great choice for the tank.
Do whatever you want with the bulkhead gaskets, you dont need silicone, but silicone is a great "safety net" to use. IF the manufacturer of your BH's say dont use it, then dont. I guess these other guys tighten the bulkhead fitting like a gorilla and squeeze the gasket out, if you dont overtighten the gasket, then you will not have this problem, even while using silicone. Its funny how one group says dont use it ever, and others use it all the time. I gues its like a friend says.."some like Fords and some like Chevy's".

i used small coating of silicone grease on mine. Magic Lube. don't forget you have water pressure pushing it against the tank too.

just checked on rk2-50pe skimmer. they use two 1/4hp pumps at 1.15amps,230volts that =264.5 for each pump,529 total watts.

new project, any ideas what this is going to be?

i hope the first one is NOT your stand.

i like the Vortec on the bottom pointing up but with a sand bed may not be the best thing.

how deep is your sand bed going to be?

what size grains?

Carl

not the tank stand. the bottom of the 75gal. tank is about 1'' of tbs live sand. not sure what to put in 800 gal.

How many pounds of sand do you have on that floor dean?
I like the vortec on the bottom, since you are doing all this testing do you happen to have anytning 40" deep you could hook that vortec too to see how much turbulence it gives at that depth.
good luck on your expariment
