I really did my home work on these and also been to a cupple of places that have been able to keep these eels successfully and honestly feel that i've done everything possible to try and give them a chance in my tank. I introduce 6 and 1 die pretty much in the bag it came in. As for the other 5 have been doing very well. All i can do is try and cover all angles that i can to try and keep them alive.Originally posted by RokleM
Everything I've read on garden eels points to a very good sized sandbed (we're talking 8-10" minimum). Needless to say, I believe they might have been a poor choice.

Great tank - love the corals and the fish.
Question on the Garden Eels? How are they? Do they "play nice" I wanted a Moray Eel in my tank, but was cautioned and discouraged to keep one due to the aggressiveness, ultimate size and praying on tank mates.
But Garden Eels could be a nice substitute. I always enjoy seeing them while scuba diving. What's your experience been with them in captivity? What do they eat and how do they behave?
Thanks, Itay.
Thank you sand manOriginally posted by Sandman71
