350 Gallon From Nothing

Hey everyone I'm a decade plus long forum stalker that's been out of the tank game for about 6 years now....sad but true. I got the itch again so I ordered a 96" x 36" x 24" tall tank from Crystal Reef Aquatics out of WA. I'm excited and nervous all rolled into one!

I'll use this thread to journal this complete build. Tonight I'll post pictures of the stand frame and equipment list along with potential tenants.

Enjoy the ride!

This is the stand without the skin....mu daughters are ecstatic to show the size comparison. It's made out of 2 x 6, 4 x 4 and some 2 x 4 bracing. Pretty sure I could sit my truck and then some on it

Welcome! You said its going to be 96"? Maybe it's my eyes, but I just cant see 8ft in that stand. planning on sump to go under that stand?

then its definitely my eyes! nice tank size, i'm sure youl have lot of fun putting this build together. I have 96x30x30" build in the wall and what i enjoy most out of my tank was actually setting it all up/building it.

This is the equipment that I'm going with:

Crystal Reef Aquatics 96 x 36 x 24 Tall
Crystal Reef Aquatics Stealth XL Sump
ATI 36" 8 x 39 watt SunPower - 2 units
Reef Brite 72" XHO Strip Light with controller interface
Maxspect XF350 Gyre pump bundle with controller and 2 XF350 pumps
Neptune Systems Apex WAV pump and 1LINK module pacemaker starter kit and wifi controller system
Octopus Regal 300SSS skinmer
Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155 ATO
Pan World 250PS return pump

I have some rock that I've stored from a previous setup but what online source do you all suggest from experience for quality dry rock??

Well been busy working on doors with two built and mounted. The other opening will be for drawers and a table top drawer for laying items on.

Still have 6+ weeks until I get aquarium and sump with the anticipation just killing me.

Probably going to have quite a few tangs and a couple angels plus I like the darker snowflake clownfish.

Nice dimensions I have the same tank. What kind of reef are you planning?

This will give u an idea of the light vs 36" width. I add 2 row of ATI blue plus to cover the whole tank cause I do full Sps.

I've read your build thread and wow your tank is outstanding! Hope my sps turn out half that good

For my experience I can tell u that buying once is much cheaper than buy then upgrade. Anything we buy lose 1/2 value when we sell it back. It's good to look at similar tank size and determine your equipment. From chiller to light to pump to powerhead make sure to get the adequate size so u don't have to buy again

They've started putting my tank together....the wait is rough.

Also, ordered 300 lbs of dry rock from reefcleaners today!
