3g JBJ Picotope

Yeah, you're right... I've just been in a rush to get this thing setup before I finish breaking down and sell my Solana. Otherwise I'd have to buy live rock and substrate all over again. It just puzzles me that all of this came from an established tank and the shrimp died that quickly. Anyway, thanks for not flaming me. I'm not a noob but that was definitely a noob mistake. I think I'll give it a few weeks before I add any livestock.

Here's another picture. It has cleared up dramatically:

What percent is the vortech on in the last video? Have been thinking about doing the same for some time now in a similar sized tank.

Well it's the ecoxotic PAR38. And according to their website it has 40 degree optics... and I have no idea what that means.

40 degrees is the narrowest optics (also make 60 and 80), for such a small tank the 40's are what I would expect to use. It's looking like a nice little tank so far.

This tank is still chugging along. It kind of got put on the backburner due to a death in the family. But I'm trying to clean it up now. Been having a bit of trouble with cyano. I think I may have it mostly knocked out though. There are a lot of new corals since I last posted as I went to the LMAS frag swap in southern Indiana and picked up a ton of SPS for dirt cheap. Most of them are still doing well. Also added a very small Yellowtail Damsel. It's very active and eats anything.

The Vortech is on about 10-15% in ReefCrest mode. I got the light fixture from Kroger's of all places.

Here's a bad picture I just took:

Again, this tank has pretty much been neglected for about the past two weeks.

Have you had any overheating problems at all? I'm looking into an Azoo fan that clips to the rim for my 5 gallon QT. It's just for summer I'm hoping. Because I can't afford a vortech with its external motor, I'll have a skimmer and submersible powerhead which are sure to give me heat.
