3g JBJ Picotope

Have you had any overheating problems at all? I'm looking into an Azoo fan that clips to the rim for my 5 gallon QT. It's just for summer I'm hoping. Although I can't afford a vortech with its external motor, I'll have a skimmer and submersible powerhead which are sure to give me heat.

I've had zero problems with overheating. According to both my ReefKeeper Lite thermometer probe and a regular glass alcohol thermometer my temp stays at a constant 80F.

It's looking great! Any issues with dust/film on the surface?
I like the John McLaughlin avatar btw!

I've had a little problem with film on the surface of the water. But it's not too bad.

John McLaughlin is my favorite musician.

Thanks. I'm at a loss as to what the problem is with both of the birdsnests. Maybe it's just too much light for them where they are... I really don't know. I think I'll leave the LPS where they are for now.

i have a lot of sps that are doing awesome and yet ive never been able to keep birdsnest.

any plans in the works for the tank?

Oh sorry. I thought you might have a list for regular maintenance that I could compare to the one I was writing up last night. :P

Oh, haha. Regular maintenance for this tank, aside from scraping the glass and all that jazz, is at least a 1g water change per week. Also, I usually dose <2.5ml of B-Ionic two part solution daily to keep the Alk up. I feed the damsel daily and feed the corals about twice per week.

I don't have a daily or monthly maintenance, just a weekly of water change, clean collection cup and change GAC when I get the reactor back online.
