The tank is in! After some major nail biting it made it through the door and down the basement stairs...

1st the stand had 1/8" clearance through the front door....yikes!

Next the 600 lb tank on a dolly supported by multiple straps and 4 huge guys...

What sold you on the Giesemann lights over other hybrids? I have Radions that I'm not happy with and am trying to decide which hybrid to go with...or just go back to T5s.

The German quality construction is outstanding. Plus, the combination of dimmable T5 plus full spectrum LED seemed to be a win win. Bluetooth control is also really well implemented although does take some tinkering.

Nice set up. Question. Do you know or did you check if the tile can withstand the weight of the tank? Looks similar to my tile and it was a no go. Especially at the feet / base of the stand.

It's rated >400 lb over 9 mm. The feet I have are 4 cm. It's on a concrete slab so hopefully it'll be okay!

But man, so Elos USA literally stole your money, did that company just go belly up and out of business, declare bankruptcy and you were screwed as far as that went? Glad that Elos (Italy) actually took care of you though.

Elos (Italy) switched distributers from Elos USA to Coralvue when I had my deposit for a custom tank. The tank was never built as we were still designing the tank. When they switched distributers, the former Elos USA distributer never returned my deposit. Elos USA obviously closed its doors after losing rights to distribution. For a variety of reasons, I delayed my project including frustration over this process.

However, when I picked the project up again, Sam from Wet Work who had previously installed several custom Elos tanks was able to directly contact the CEO of Elos (Italy) and get a resolution to the situation. Because of this I switched from Reef Savvy back to Elos which was very competitive on price for the custom tank and stand with RS.

AFAIK, Elos (Italy) has again changed its distribution model and dropped Coralvue as its US distributer due to some alleged shady business practices.
