MacManor: thank you, yes I thought this one out for about 8 months.
theyammieguy: I purchased the hippo about 1.5 years ago. It was the size of a quarter. It's doing fine, eats like a hippo... I do get that a lot from people about the fish I have in this tank, but they all feed very well and are to my knowledge happy.

Thanks foe the info. I really want one but everybody is telling me the 40b is to small. Plus I've been reading that they are real prone to ich.

Wow, these tanks are something to aspire too. Be nice, this is my first reef tank.
Do you have a glass bottle in your tank? In the middle on the sand? If so, could you show me it a little more? I really want to place some in my tank. Ive been collecting them from the Goodwills. Just can't decide which to put in.

Those of you using koralia powerheads, are yall using k2's or k3's and how many? I placed my order for two 40 breeders today at my LFS. It will be a very slow build if I don't get my bonus. Lol.
I am in the process of building my 40gal breeder and I picked up 2 of the k2's.

I forgot to mention, I wont be getting the used 40b. I talked to my LFS to day and he could not tell me if it ever had copper in it. He said he bought it used from someone he thinks used it in freshwater but was not certian.
I told him I didn't want to risk anything and had him order two brand new tanks. I'm paying $100 each, $10 more than another LFS but I like this guy and he finally called my by my name last weekend. Lol

Felix, your tank is one of my favorites. I see you have plenty of SPS with the NEP light. Are you satisfied with it? If you had to do it again would you got with maybe an ATI or TEK?
I'm on a pretty tight budget but do not want to skimp on my light.

I loved it. I actually just took the tank down this past weekend and moved everything to my new 135g downstairs. The only thing I would suggest would be to start looking at replacement fans, The stock ones are VERY loud IMO and I planned on replacing them until I found the 135. I got the NEP on a HELL of a deal from someone that wanted to get rid of the entire setup and didn't know what they had so I never even looked at the Tek or ATI setups.
