What do you guys have as far as a CUC for your 40brs? I dont have much in my tank as far as a CUC just a couple hermit crabs and a few turbo snails. I keep on having bryopsis popping up in my tank and a few patches of hair algae left from the original owner that I need to take care of.

Whoever has a 6x39, can you post a room shot of your tank? I'd like to see how much light hits the floor and walls.

I have a 4x39 ATI miro4 retro kit from Reek Geek in the canopy. I tried to place 5 but with the width of the reflectors, it was at the edges. I know with a retro, six would be over the edges.
Not sure on a fixture though. you would probalby have a lot of ambient light spilling over. I've been told by multiple folks that 4x39 is plenty for the 40br especially due to how shallow the tank is.
I really wanted six but if 4 is enough I thought why not save and add a controller etc.

The TEK 4 and 6 bulb have the same dimensions and there is only a $40 difference. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the 4 bulb but I'm trying to compare the two as much as possible before buying it.

Heres a little update. I added a couple of more rocks to give a place for my sps frags that were lined up in the sand. Played around with it for a few days. Also got a nice gorgonian sitting in the middle now, looks really nice lowing back and forth in the middle.

Just got back from my LFS. Got the TEK 4x39 for $250. Now I need an overflow, return pump, two K2's, build my sump, build my stand, LR, and LS.
I'll start a thread once I have everything.

No, just the regular one. I'm on a tight budget otherwise I would of gone with an ATI.

Just wanted to tag a long, here are my tanks specks:
Display 40g Breeder All Glass. Sump 29g All Glass with glass baffles.
Lighting:
-Display = Current Nova extreme 6x39w
-fuge = 4x24w
Skimmer:
-Octopus needle wheel 200 re-circ.
Pumps:
-Return = Mag 9.5
-Display = 3x Tunze 6025 nano streams
-Fuge = 1x Korialla 4
Other equipment:
-Media reactor = Bulk reef supply GFO and Carbon
-Chiller = Current USA 1/10hp
-Heater = 2x Stealth 300w
-Custom overflow = Bean Animal Style
I run open top on fuge and display tank.

I just bought a K2 off ebay and will buy another from my LFS next friday. I might also use 2 K1's on the back wall at the bottom to control any build up.
