40 Breeder FTS Thread

My 40 breeder in all its glory.

Too bad its coming down tomorrow.

Geeze, I wish I didn't have to post after Aquabucket's beauty....

I did a bit of rearranging on the left side with a small tower constructed out of epoxy and plastic rods. I moved most of the corals to even them out. This is the first major change I have made since starting the tank. I'd love any suggestions.

Just read your tribute thread. Good luck and have fun in your travels.

Would you mind listing your equipment one last time?

Just 4 mini powerheads and a hang on back filter with carbon.

Lights I made with HOT5s that are overdriven. No sump no skimmer or auto top off. Simplicity at its finest I guess.

Thanks!

Gotta travel too much now and don't want to come home to a crash so I cashed in.

Thats a shame, this has been my favorite 40b since I first saw it about a year ago. :sad1:

Oh well, good luck in your travels, hope the tear down goes as planned.

I just bought a K2 off ebay and will buy another from my LFS next friday. I might also use 2 K1's on the back wall at the bottom to control any build up.

I had a K3 and two K2s in my 29g, and I still wished I had more flow. Then again, I did have some bulky rock. I'm going to try two K4s and a one or two K3s in my 75g.

I'm looking forward to your build thread! :)

I don't plan on to many sps and I'm not going to have a large rock wall so hopefully I will be ok. If not I'm not breaking the bank with the koralia's.

I have two k-nanos, and I think Im going to add a single k1 in a little while. But Im not hurting for flow at all as it is. I think the sea-swirl really helps to get the water moving everywhere.

Awesome looking fish, good luck and keep me posted on whether it nips the corals or not.

Its been 30 days and no nipping. She seems oblivious to any corals but is eating like a pig once per day!!!

I run Chemi Pure Elite in the Aquaclear and an Eshopps 100H skimmer.

I run CPE in mine as well and have been looking into a skimmer. I'll give the Eshopps a look. Seem to work well for you? How is the noise level? Kinda diggin' my simple, quiet setup :)

My LFS uses those. Seem to work well but LOUD. I'm not a plumbing expert by any means so maybe there is something more you can do in a home setting to quiet them down.
