We do, thanks. Boulder isn't terribly crime-ridden, but we do get some theft. Half the town still leaves their homes unlocked while they're away during the day, so the key is being less of an easy target than everyone else. We both work at home, so that helps.

Out of curiosity.....I was looking through the pics that you link to of your house amazing I might add......but what is the room with the crazy shaped blue ceiling......??

Well, it's a work in progress, but it's not quite as blue any more: :)

It's my daughter's room. We managed about two hours of mural tonight before it got too dark.

I think all the crazy angles on the ceiling are very cool. My architect fought us tooth-and-nail about it. He was just desperate to drop the ceiling for some reason. Sigh.

It's funny how architects and builders want to simplify the ceiling and walls. We have a bonus room and small bedroom upstairs that have some great angles as well. I wanted to keep the ceiling high and keep the angles. It looks great and the bedroom is so cozy.

Actually, I could understand if it was the builder, but he was arguing our side of it.

So, I finished the dragon yesterday and my daughter came up and said, "Where are the fangs? She has to have fangs." Sigh. :)

It shouldn't be long now as the order's been placed with the glass milling company for a couple of weeks. I should find out more info at the site meeting tomorrow. I'll let you know.

The tile guy had a freak out today about tile pattern and height of aquarium we all got into a pretty good state, figured it all out, and then later that afternoon we all figured out that it was a mistake on the plans. Full speed ahead....

All the steel for the stand is cut but not assembled yet.

I'll be out-of-touch tomorrow and possibly Thursday. I'll see you when I'm back!

It's true. :) I am slacking. In my defense, I should have gotten the damn thing in March.

Surgery's done. Cancer's gone. And I have fifty stitches in my nose. The eye has started swelling shut and should be unopenable by morning. But it's done.

Thanks! Who's calling the shots in the kid's room? Why, the kid, of course. :) Can you tell she's in a dragon phase? :)

Well, one eye's working:

I'm already starting to feel better. The anaesthetics were starting to wear off by the end of the facial reconstruction--I could feel the last few stitches--but it wasn't horrible except that the nurse forgot to call in my prescription. Two hours later, well after the local had worn off, I was finally able to start the pain meds. So much for staying ahead of the pain. But, like I said, much better today.

As far as the house goes, the tile guy's started on the aquarium bathroom and the brick guys have been working on the arches in the kitchen. I haven't seen the cabinet guy yet, but he's supposed to get going this week. They're going to start connecting the electricity next week.

My lovely bride took some house photos today (since my nose is the size of a yam) and told me that I could post them for everyone's enjoyment. Today, you will find more photos of the mural (including gorgeous trim work), brickwork in the kitchen, and lovely tile in the aquarium bathroom.

I should be resting but I need something to take my mind off the fact that the swelling is now pressing in on my cheekbone and is pretty painful.

Cheers, all!
