I would try to keep any coral the fish won't eat.
As for sps, stick with hardier ones.

That's pretty stuffed. Your livestock will consist of hermits and shrimp lol. This must be hard for you Lawrence but in time I think you'll be glad you did this and I also think that in a few years when things slow a bit with your kids you'll convert it back. To bad you sold the bigger cube. You can use it right about now. You need another foot each way

Sometimes going small allows you to do things that you couldn't with a larger tank. For example, a non-photosynthetic tank or a cold water species tank.

I tried to keep a saltwater tank at work, but it was always so cold in my office that the heater for my nano couldn't keep up. I saw that my tank was at a consistent 62 degrees without a heater so I decided to raise a tank full of catalina gobies. It was a tiny tank, but it was a lot of fun.

So I say embrace the smaller size and have fun with it!

Btw - I like the aquascaping in your new 60g.

Old Fish are still in qt.
I am hoping to get Brian 100 gallons so fish have space to swim and corals to grow. Doing mostly Zoa, mushroom, Lps and some sps. Also your tank is always an inspiration I decided to get mostly anthias. I can't afford angels anymore nor have the space for them
It's was a great run.

Polishing my main tank then slowly build a simple, low energy, easy maintenance, cheap and visually appealing minimalistic planted tank.
Btw I have have 500 fish and it won't break that bank.

Lawrence, I have a brand new stainless steel regulator I had made for me from AlanLe. It's dual needle valves so can distribute to two different sources. All top of the line parts. It's still in the box. I was going to use it on two planted tanks simultaneously but plans have changed. Text me if you're interested.

I always thought that discus were kinda hard to keep, alot of water changes and expensive.
Cichlids are easy.

From what I've learned Billy thats true in raising them from juvies to adults. When adults the maintenance isn't as much. They are expensive but something tells me that Lawrence has a pipeline

I am using the one from calcium reactor. But I will let you know . I won't be up till summer .

I am doing a lot of Cardinal tetras first then few discus after the tank stabilized. Water changes is takes 5-10 minutes a week maybe less so it won't be a problem for me.

Discus are only $25 in some fish store in la and San Gabriel valley although It's 40 minutes drive I think it's worth it.
