44 Gallon DIY All-in-one

30mini.. tank looks like it's coming along fine just fine!
You might want to change your sig! you have a tank now! congrats on the present! I'm probably getting my fiancee to buy me an ATO for one of my Christmas presents.. (how boring a gift would that be for someone who is not into aquariums?) haha

Thanks guys! I'm getting close everyday to water, and the best part is the wife actually likes everything! She only had one request, and that was to try and fix the doors a little.

My wife's idea of a joke... When I got home, my ACIII was already wrapped up. So, I wasn't able to do anything with it last night... so I get into work this morning, and what do I find in my email:

Looking good. where did you get the idea for the overflow? Can you post a pic of it with some arrows to depict waterflow?

I'm going to be doing a 60g cube and want to include something like this.

thanks.

Thanks for the comments everyone!!!

cet98, I haven't gotten it yet, I just know that I have it. When I got home, the wife had it wrapped up already, so I didn't even get to play around with it! Then, I get into work, and those pictures were in my email.... her idea of a joke!

steveoutlaw, the attached is what your asking for. I hope that it answers your question.

That's exactly what I was looking for. How are you going to keep detritus from building up in the heater area? Are you planning on putting a powerhead in there to keep water to keep water moving past the heater?

That's where waterchanges come in handy! I plan on doing a w/c weekly, and will get in there and siphon in out when doing a w/c. But, a small PH in there is a good idea. I can get one that's like 30gph or something... that'll be just enough!

30mini your sump area is 6x24wx18 correct ? I have an all in one with similar dimentions. What skimmer are you plannning on using ? I fell like theres no room in there lol I would liek to see how your going to set your equip. up.

Yes, it's 6x24x18. I was planning on this skimmer because fully assembled it only takes up an area of 2.25"x4"x11". So, I'll have to make a platform for it to sit on, but it'll fit perfectly where I want it to!

I will look into them. I haven't bought a skimmer yet, as that will be the birtday present in July. Till then, it'll be weekly waterchanges, and some good ol' TLC!

I don't have the room for a remora... if you look at my drawing, you can see that I have a 2" Eurobrace around the top, so I really only have a 4" x 4" opening in my skimmer section to fit that. So, I have to wait for something that I can put in there that I like.

I thought you had to silicone the whole tank at once otherwise theres the potential of leaks/failure?

anyhows, it looks great!
