A year in the works and started moving livestock today! I figured a picture album would be better for you guys. I flew down to Arizona and drove the display back here to Kansas in a Penske last spring break. System is ~900g total volume.

I apologize for the annoyingly large pictures. Other forums automatically resize them lol. I don't know how to change them. Here is a link to the album. Might be easier that way. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/album.php?albumid=3970

Nice, setup I love your 7 1/2 foot overflow. What is your main pump. Tagging along too.

The main pump is a barracuda. It feeds the side tanks and chiller as well as the display. The overflow couldn't be any longer or the euro bracing woulda stopped it from goin in the tank. I wanted room for the magnet to clean on the ends too.

I was looking into getting a hammerhead, do you think this would be too much. how much head height do you have?

I've got about 5.5 feet of head. It puts me at just over 4000gph I think. I had to reduce the outlet from 1.5" to 1" for the seaswirls. That cut my flow big time compared to what it was.

A hammerhead will be too much for your sump. Ideally you want water going slowly through a sump so the live rock can filter it more thoroughly. I added a bigger fuge for that purpose and now use the extra flow to turn the surface of the tank over more.

Thank you soooooo much ccombs70, i thought that a hammerhead would be too much, but wasn't sure.
I'm just starting out with a large tank???
