Yeah we did spend a lot of money, and we did get it up and running. But found that it was too much light actually for the depth of the tank. We didn't have enough corals to soak up the energy and just ended up growing a lot of algea even with the heavy skimming. We really did try to get the best equiptment that we could find. Now it really hurts tring to sell it for such a huge price gouge...We just didn't have enough time and money left over to put back into the tank.
I think that we've decided to downsize to the new cadlights 39 gallon nano cube. That are being released February 5th. They have a 150 watt HQI and two T5s and moonlights, fuge, 100g rated skimmer all built in all glass trimless tank, they're pretty sweet. This way even though we are losing so much money from the depreciated parts we will still have money left over after we sell everything and get the tank, aqua controller and a few nice corals!
The TEK light would make for a really good propagation light.
Matt and I also brew beer (any other double hobbists??) and there are combined stores called "Brew and Grow", where you can get brewing equipment and hydroponics supplies. And these places were selling this light for that purpose as well.
I do alot of gardening in the summer and have considered keeping the light to use for that purpose to start seedlings or something...but in an apartment there really isn't room for that especially with curious cats...
We will definately entertain offers for all of the remaining equipment....
