50,000 litre tank in a boutique hotel (Bangkok , Thailand)

Greetings from sunny South Africa.

Next time I am in Bangkok, I've made a mental note to hopefully stay in your hotel.

Congratulations on what must surely be a dream come true!

You are most welcome ! Please let me know when you are around .

Sirichok, sorry to ask but how much does that rock go for per pound / $ in Thailand. Trying to get a rough idea of cost there vs USA. Great choice for rock by the way. I am a big fan of branching rock look regardless if it's not the best at biological filtration.

Here they sell branching rock per piece ( Size approximately more than 24 inches in length ) and costs around US$ 8.5 per piece . I am combining branching rocks ( 250 pieces )with normal live rocks ( 250 pieces ) in order to create a little atoll with a column height of more than 3 m . The topic of whether branching rock is a good biological filter or not is still debatable depending on how you look at . Howver I have a very limited choice as it would be too difficult to build an atoll ( with a column height of more than 3 m ) on just normal live rocks and especially to attach coral frags without branching rocks would be a nightmare.

More interior decorations !!

You have a setup to keep them wet ? beacause your tank is still not ready.

No , I will have to cure the branching rocks and get rid of all unwanted pests before putting into the tank.

Nevermind. I read the thread title. In Bangkok. When is the date you estimate the tank will be ready for fish and coral?

Not certain yet ! Have to keep on testing water but IMHO it will take at least 3-6 months but who knows it might take lesser time.

Just got back from visiting Erawan shrine. Wanted to visit Chatuchak Market Monday, but was flooded out. Will definitely visit your hotel next time I go.
