just curious, have you considered at all putting a sheet of protective glass over the acrylic, just kind of a window over it. This way you don't have to worry about scratches near as much? I know you can buff scratches out of acrylic, but I'm just thinking as I type here.

Yes we have had many hours of discussions concerning putting something to protect the acrylic glass. However we are still at a loss of finding a perfect solution . If we were to put a sheet of glass per your suggestion over the the acrylic, with a gap in between which is not airtight then there might still be dust or condensation over the acrylic which will be impossible to clean. We thought about putting a screen protector like in iPhone but could not find a manufacturer that could produce a customized size to fit the tank at a reasonable price . So we are still searching for a solution .

Just got back from visiting Erawan shrine. Wanted to visit Chatuchak Market Monday, but was flooded out. Will definitely visit your hotel next time I go.

So sorry to hear that , we are at the beginning of raining season in BKK so a lot of wet days ahead. Please let me know when you are around next time !

Finally all done with silicone adhesive !! We have to wait for another week before all the metal beams that hold acrylic in place can be removed and we can then start landscaping the tank .

Talk to a company that does clear bras/wraps for high end cars, I would think a flat piece of acrylic would be a walk in the park for them.

That's essentially what 3M and Xpel are. Not really an acrylic persay, but a durable plastic that can prevent scratches from reaching the acrylic surface. It may have to be changed every couple years depending on how many of your patrons tap on the "glass" with their expensive rings and fake nails, or have children driving toys across the pane ;)

Oh yeah! Car protection might be doable. I know our car has clear protective strips in a few places. Specifically under the door handles. Can't remember where else. Almost like clear tint but on the paint instead of the windows.

Start looking for LED lights to grow macro algae in the refugium My estimate would be 18 LED lights with rating of 30 watts to cover the whole refugium
