We've unocked the reefing secrets through aggressive Australian Pagan worship to the Empire :lolspin: there's a lot of things that we will never have like acro's that are generations old and you know exactly what they do in a tank and how they look without the guesswork lol like hawkins or any of the dragons :uhoh3:
We've gotten some stunning pieces of late though

If I recall, you are doing Andrew's full dose of Koralcolor/Trace Hard?
Also, could you tell me what, if anything you stopped or changed when you started the adding the BJ (had to..)
I don't remember when I tested last lol maybe mid Feb and I don't have my little book with me so off the top of my head:
Nitrate: 5-8ppm
Phos: ~0.05-0.07ppm

Nothing was stopped, started or changed when I started this. Zeo had finished up a month or two earlier and nothing else has change, same big 3 dosing recipes and same carbon along with no new equipment changes either
I wanted to make sure the effects were specifically coming from it and given no changes I think we can say it probably does lolDon't forget me lol the excitement that Dave, Mark and I had when we were opening the bags was huge, we were giggling :lolspin:

Not really, they've been like that for a year now so if they were going to it would have happened. Due to the movement of the clam and it's growth they can only just sort of hang out on the side lol

Did some tests and a quick water change yesterday and I'm pretty happy with the doser keeping everything in line
it's been two weeks since my last water change so I definitely have a good idea on usage at the moment.Ca: 430ppm (dropped the dosing off 5ml)
Mg: 1290ppm (unchanged)
Alk: 1.75meq/l or 5dKh (bumped up 10ml)
NO3: 2.5-5ppm
As you can see the alk was right down which actually makes me really happy because it means that things have started growing at a decent rate after so many years of having very little growth! I can see a weekly difference and even one every time I visit the tank!
I've also put my Biggle Juice on the dose now too so I can stop worry about hat being dosed too
I have to say I'm a bit in love with my Kore 5th doser :love2: lol

It's like one squirt out of a syringe each morning Dom.................. you lazy little bugger...........:facepalm: You better PM Sahin and see if he'll lend you his magnetic stirrer so you don't have to shake the test tubes............
Acros are looking yummy, i fail to see how just stopping all your zeo and other stuff would result in such an obvious turn around in the look of your corals Dom.
What do you think considering you see the display in person.
Do you think it's just good luck or that the dosing is helping in some way ?

haha I'm not the lazy bugger, my good for nothing brother can't seem to fathom the concept of taking 10 seconds out of his day to do it for me in the morning :deadhorse1: so rather than rely on his good for nothing *** I put it on the doser haha although this is just straight Koral Colour with no Trace Hard. I've notice the PE is always a better on days that I dose just Koral Colour. The best part is the doser can do parts of a ml, 0.3ml no problem
lolI'm in the same boat as you, I'm still amazed but I reckon you're right about not adding all that crap to the tank. I think in certain situations it works really well but looking back on it I reckon there was something I wasn't doing right or something was amiss with my system and zeo that was causing some good but a lot of holding back at the same rate. I had a large improvement when the Radium went up (it was amazing) but since stopping and not doing anything aside from some dosing it seems that things are going crazy. I've got growth I've never seen before!
I think there's something to old school methods, simple and lots and lots of strong halide light and a little bit of trace dosing. I'm really not doing anything special; skimmer, carbon, randy's for dosing and the magic juice lol I think we've just found a sweet spot for the acro's. I do think you're onto something with the manganese though, I've moved just to KC so we'll see what happens.
Even saying all of that the difference in the tank even after I stopped zeo and wasn't dosing the juice, was amazing. I very clearly remember getting home to the tank after 4/5 days of not seeing and just being blown away by the difference of no zeo dosing. I immediately stopped it all right then (well took the tank off it properly and slowly lol) so if you were to ask me what one of the biggest successes about the changes I've made to the tank I'd say it would be the Radium, hands down it has made the most difference! I reckon there's a good pinch of luck there too :hmm5:

lol but then I buy more acro's and can't afford it :lolspin:It definitely works an absolute treat! The Radium I think is the biggest factor but when you pair it with the magic it's like something is unlocked in the tank! It's hard to explain without seeing the changes yourself lol
I think you definitely need to go with the same system so we can get a third tank with (hopefully) the same results! We'd be an unstoppable worldwide Acro Empire :strooper: hahaha

If you're dosing just the koralcolor alone watch the yellow piece in particular. If it starts to look weird as if it has a bronzey red hue developing - you will know if you see it trust me, you are dosing too much.
I double dosed it alone for a week and i won't be doing that again lol. I stopped at day five i think and skipped it for the next two days.

I've got it set to 0.33ml so it should be good from now on but I'll be visiting once a day for the next week to make sure!It's definitely working well though, tank was looking great when I stopped by today. I really am over the moon with it and I can't wait to have it back with me!!

That last shot looks to me like it's getting a touch too much light... But the potential red in there..mcould be awesome.
It's been in that spot it's whole life, once I stopped zeo though it browned off but it's coming back, here's an older shot of what it should be! lol
