50g SPS Cube

Jrpdriver, I posted your thread link to this one as one of the successful LED lit tanks. Do you have any experience with MH lit tanks? If so, how would you compare LED lit tank with your MH lit tank?

Were there any corals that you simply could not keep under the LED's?

That is very kind, thank you....I have had sps tanks with metal halide and with T5 and I haven't noticed any differences. I had a 300g that was all T5 and was full sps, I swapped out to Radion LED's and ran them at 100% from the first day and saw no changes to the coral.

Superb colour on those SPS. This tank is a perfect example of LED's working for all sorts of SPS...which begs the question why isnt LED's working as well for others? :hmm4:

Anyway, just wanted to also ask; do you dose any additives? Or is this tank getting water changes, Kalk and Calcium Reactor?

Thanks.

Thank you!...no additives just what you mentioned; water changes, calcium and kalk reactors, oh and I dose magnesium manually so I guess I do add an additive ;)

Your tank is awesome, and I hope my cube turns out like yours? When you trim corals do you sell or trade them? If so, I would be interested.

Here's a few more shots that Greg took

Amazing piece can you tell me it's placement in the tank? What flow and lighting. I have one and she's not doing that well and I am trying to find the right spot for it.
Thanks
Michael

Thanks, it was given to me as a Sunset Milli but its getting more of a magenta color to it rather than orange so I'm not sure what it is. Its about 6-7" below the surface, right in the middle of my Radion, its getting 600-700 PAR and high flow

Thank you, unfortunately I don't have any more room to do trading but I do sell frags all the time, send me a pm when you are ready. Good luck with the tank!

Forgive me if you posted this already (I didn't see it), but what do you keep your major 3 params at? The tank is looking awesome btw!

Thank you

The most important parameter in my opinion is Alk and I try and keep it between 7-8dkh. Other params are

Temp 77.5 +-.3
Salinity 1.025-1.026
Ph 7.9-8.1 but sometimes it dips down to 7.8
I don't measure calcium any more, I tried a range of calcium levels and didn't see much a difference so I don't test it anymore

Ok that's I have a radion as well.
