hahaha I was going to do that I use that trick on my furniture I think thats what i am going to do when I need to put it in the house.

thank you

Fair ! Price was good. But I would probably get the tank from someone else if I had to do it again . Between the wait and the top and bottom not being one inch really turned me off precision clarity.

Alright I got the HDPE cut and installed in the tank today. I glued it down with some silicon. I also took all the rock I had and peiced it all together to form 4 foot high acrhes and a couple small piles of rock. I held the arches together with some plastic coat hangers cut to make rods in holes I drilled and Just put some silicon in there to hold them.

ok thats all the rock I have. I think it looks a little empty now. But I like the fact there is alot of swimming room. Also if anything falls it wont hit the sides. I plan on having some big fish so is this a good amount of rock.

Today I bought some supplies and some new tools for building the stand. It will be made out of many 2x6 's to be sure it can support the weight I plan on haveing a decorative face that I can remove from the structural part of the stand. I was thinking of using 4 bolts for every vertical 2x6, two on the top and two on the bottom connecting the top and bottom frames.. Is this safe/strong. there will be about 18 vertical risers. So it is easyer to dismantle the stand for moving.

Hey I am looking at a tank of this size from a manufacturer in Minnesota. Midwest custom aquariums. Do you think that it should really be 1" all six sides?

Mar:rollface:

I am sure it doesnt have to be because all his tanks are guaranteed for life. But he should of specified that in the ad also the fact that the tank was not built.

Here is the stand as of today. I still need to add more vertical 2x6 for support. I am thinking of scraping the bolt idea I am going to have 14 vertical supports and I think 2 1/2 inch screws everywhere should be fine.

I can't wait! I love FOWLR setups! Once your setup is complete, you might consider using some liverock rubble or branching liverock to help break up the seams in the starboard. That would add extra foraging space for your fish as well ;)

14 vertical supports...? Wouldn't it have been easier to purchase a solid 6' block of wood?:eek1:

Seriously though, that sounds like a lot of supports to me.
