540 in wall from Sunrise FL......

Nice set up good you on the LEDs, love them.

thanks it was my first attempt at the leds and after I did them it was actually a piece of cake.....it just took a few friends that had the knowledge to teach me a few things then it was easy sailing from them on....

Greetings and congratulations on a beautiful display.
I am currently looking at a 375 gal 96x30x30 in wall and was interested in your lighting.
would you mind giving me some info on the modules?

thanks
Drew

Sure..... I used 3 10x10 fixtures from Heatsink usa, each fixture has 5 multichips on it from HKLED, 1 100w 20k, 1 50w actinic hybrid, 1 50w Royal Blue, 1 20w Red, 1 20w Green......I used fully dimmable meanwell ballast from Powergate and every chip all 15 of them are fully dimmable via my Apex, I used to have them on a Reefkeeper but have since changed up controllers to the Apex, each fixture utilizes 2 4.5in fans from Rapid LED, they are suspended on a light rail system from Sunlight Systems and each fixture can move entirely from one end of the DT to the other for any maintenance that I would like to perform anywhere in the DT, the wiring from each module is ran through the ceiling over to an opposite wall where the ballast and Apex are located.....

Here is a pic of the wiring.....

Well how about some updates....

Welcome to aquascaping 2.0 from start to finish and I am going to show you how for those of you that would like to see.....enjoy!!!....

From this .....

<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/user/mrx66699/media/begining_zps6c93fbc8.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b70/mrx66699/begining_zps6c93fbc8.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo begining_zps6c93fbc8.jpg"/></a>

to this in less than 24 hrs.......

<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/user/mrx66699/media/final_zpsede37376.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b70/mrx66699/final_zpsede37376.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo final_zpsede37376.jpg"/></a>

This was done with a few goals in mind....

1st I wanted minimal rock actually on the sand....30% or less (keep in mind I have around 1500 lbs total)
2nd I wanted as much swim threw flow as possible
3rd It needed to look as natural as possible
4th I wanted it moved back further from the front glass than the previous
5th I wanted as much rock as possible centered off the back wall and ends

The first thing was to take everything out and store it in my sump and in a 55 gal barrel overnight to allow things to clear up before rinsing it and returning it ......then the fun began......

<embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvid17.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fb70%2Fmrx66699%2Frock_zps116e47b5.mp4">

finally the finished product .......mission accomplished

<embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvid17.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fb70%2Fmrx66699%2FVIDEO0257_zps8c723ca1.mp4">

and believe it or not I still have over 100 lbs in my sump......

ps if the videos are not showing up just refresh your browser and it usually fixes it....

Yes it did Wayne. 2 things got it all started. 1st I wanted to remove a certain fish lol ......and his *ss was mine in the end. 2nd I had some changes in mind I wanted before the introduction of some of my corals from my old DT. A friend of mine has been holding them in his tank for a little over a year now as I waited for the tank to mature.

Here is a short look at a few of the softies reintroduced from my old 300....these are the first to go in and we shall see how they respond before I load up the new system with anything else....sorry for the crappy cell video but it was late and I just finished putting them in.

Love the aquascaping !!!

Thanks for the kind words.....It was very difficult not being able to take it all out and then place it back in with any artistic quality from the front side it was literally like working straight down from the top and back .....everything is only accessible from the back for the rock work.....
