550 gallons deep display from Lebanon

looking great.
Can't wait to see it full and see the effect of the new pump positions...
Wouldn't worry about TDS at this stage. The new RO membranes are definitely lowering TDS to around 10 pre DI. So your double DI would last at least till the tank is full.
Did you start adding Salt?

Well predicted Maroun! I ended up with a TDS of 1 at the end. No salt yet, will start doing that next week... Have a safe trip!

Very nice and open aquascape.
May we see the closer shot?

Thank you Ching! here you go!

Come on Ching, we look for one of your juicy updates!!!

Excellent Build Mate. I really like how you designed ya wall unit.

I personally think it's better if you had bit bigger rockscape to match ya tank size. But hey, maybe in end results this will look cooler.

BTW maybe u mentioned before and I missed it, what king of supplement lighting you planning to use?

Thx Osi, I am following yours too, I really aimed to keep the scape as minimal as possible and take full advantage of the tank depth, so far I am very happy with the result. I hope I have the same perception after adding corals!!

As for the lighting it is 100% LED, I will share my setup in another post.

I have not given many details on the lighting yet, so here we go.

11 wires were fit on top of the tank, this gives me so much flexibility and I can raise/move any one of the lights separately. The lights are positioned depending on the rockwork below it.

I have 3 Chinese fixtures with 50/50 blue/white. I do not like the blue on these and they will turn on and off together. I have 1 of each of 200W, 300W, & 400W. They are all 1 W LEDs with half of them with optics (30 degrees). These things are monsters and I am crossing my fingers growth.

I also have 2 Maxspect GII 230W without optics. One of controller boxes has a problem as it is not turning on the Blue lights, problem should be fixed by next week. Although these are much dimmer than the other ones, they still have a very nice blue (Royal Blue) and give an additional shimmer effect, which is turning out to be great.

I also have 2 PAR38 lamps that will be only for viewing when the 1W LED lights are off.

This adds up to a total of around 1,400 Watts of LEDs.

Nice setup you have going lebreef. It must be a lot harder for you to have something this awesome when you need to get stuff shipped in than most of us who can just head down to the LFS and "pick it up".

My hats off to you for being patient and having that vision of it completed.
Congrats and will be following along.

Curious though will this be a reef tank or fish only?

Thx a lot radone! It did take quite some time to source all the stuff, and the problem here is that once you face a problem, you need to fix it here. It would be a pain to ship a piece of equipment back for service. The main headache over here is shipping and clearing, which usually adds quite a lot on the expenses. But there are also some positives, you get to meet people from all over the world depending on where each thing is coming from a different county/supplier.

This will be a SPS dominated reeftank (hopefully!), the fish I am planning to keep usually do not allow anything else!

I love the rock work, also great choice on going 100% LED. I wish I would have done that sooner.

Thank you unhandleable, I really like the LEDs, and I hope corals feel the same! I will need to add some more colors in the future (some Red and more Royal Blue & UV). It was a leap of faith, and I am glad I did it.

Thank you Ching! here you go!

Come on Ching, we look for one of your juicy updates!!!

Thanks a lot for all the pictures.
I will update my tank soon.

gotta love deep tanks...

Thx Fishie80, only problem is accessibility, but nothing a diving mask would not solve, as I have both front and back access.

WOW... I really love your aquascape.. I need to see you put the coral already!!

It is perfect art!

Cheer!

Thank you very much Last Version, kudos to the guys in Germany for their patience and help here. They were full of ideas and understood exactly what I wanted! It will still take a bit of time to have corals in there!!!
