550 gallons deep display from Lebanon

Wow the rockwork really shows the depth of the tank.

It is quite deep. Having both back and front access is very important in this case. There is also the issue of water clarity that comes into play. It will take some time but I am seeing progress on daily basis.

Vids can be a pain in the back, but they are so much better than pics!!!!

Well I am not good at any!! It will take some patience and practice to get there!

Amazing tank lebreef and great set up.

Thank you Haksar!

Thx Luc! I will hold off adding more angels until I have some corals and they get settled. The tank has had water since early May. I have since seeded it with some rock from the old tank. I also had the chrysurus since end of May and added the others 2-3 weeks ago.

Man that's one big sump :lolspin:

This aquascaping is truly the greatest. fish love it, corals will love it, flow will be amazing, & won't stand a chance.

It has been more than a year since my last update, and to be frank , on the coral front it has not been so good. After a trial with a few frags that went well decided to go with a big shipment. Coral condition was outstanding at arrival however, many things went wrong in the tank, and to make it short all the corals died. Since then, many changes have happened to the system and a lot of upgrades in equipment. I will dell on that later on but will move on to more positive things: fish!

I am truly in love with fish, especially angels and butterflies and have always pushed myself towards acquiring the smallest juveniles possible and try and pair as much of them as possible. I am also growing fond of flasher and fairy wrasses which are a realm on its own.

So far the stocklist is as follows:

Angels (by order of acquisition not introduction)
- P. xanthometopon (Blueface)
- P. chrysurus
- P. diacanthus (Red Sea Regal)
- C. potteri 2 (spawning pair)
- A. xanthopunctatus (Goldflake possibly a hybrid so far referred to by Humaguy as goldfin lol!)

Butterfly
- C. mitratus

Tangs
- N. elegans 2 (Blonde Naso males)
- A. pyroferus 2 (chocolate tangs)

Wrasses
- P. flavianalis
- C. lubbocki
- C. jordani
- C. laboutei
- C. lineatus
- W. nigopinnata

Foxfaces
- S. magnificus or Lo magnifica!? 2

Pipefish
- Corythoichthys sp. (spawning pair of Dragonface Pipefish)

Cardinals
- A. leptacanthus group of 35+ (well + because I had lost a few along the way and it is very difficult to count them!)

Mandarin
- S. splendidus (I am assuming a female so far)

Zanclus!
Z. canescens (Moorish Idol)

I hope I have not missed any fish and photos to follow!

I will start off with the first fish that went into the tank, Pomacanthus chrysurus. I got a call one afternoon and a friend of mine, who also happens to be an importer and owns an LFS, and says I should come to his place right a way (mind you he was abroad at the time), and said he had a gift for me. Knowing my fondness for the smallest possible angel, he gifted me the fish as a first fish for my tank. It is also important to note here that we receive P. chrysurus very rarely here and usually they come in at Jumbo sizes. So you could figure my ultimate surprise and happiness upon the receipt of the fish. After a period of observation and proper feeding, I placed the fish in the big tank but in a small plastic aquarium so I could target feed her better. I needed to feed 6-7 times a day and more on weekends, so with such a large tank I was afraid the fish would not be able to locate the small pellets well enough and most would go to waste.

That was at the end of September 2012! Fish is much much bigger now and has done an almost full transformation to adult colors.

Nice tank man, I really like the dimensions! What's the plan regarding corals? Restock and try SPS again or stick with some LPS?

Thx! Most LPS will not make it in this tank due to my choice of livestock, so would have to stick to SPS and some softies. I have been very busy lately and traveling a lot, and was not able to be on top of things. First I should have the water parameters inline and then start off with some Monties and work my way up.

What a beautiful tank I love the rock work

Thank you!
