55gallon

The end of the month would be good. The same size you got. Remember your gt tank was started the same time as you're dt.

What is up with feather dusters... Do they need special care? Mine keep crawling out of their shells and disappearing... This one is still in his case, but is extending way out.... Is there to much flow? To much light? I don't get it, they're supposed to be really hardy

For clarification...Need to know what can be done....* This is exactly what the last feather duster did before it disappeared.* I don't want to lose another one...* I don't understand why they did this?* SG is 1.022-1.023, ammonia is 0, nitrite is 0.* Everything else in the tank is happy, growing and making babies...

Alright I'll start raising it back up... Lowering it helped the corals a lot... But if I raise the salinity slowly they should adjust

Large featherdusters that you buy at the store aren't hardy at all, and usually starve to death in a matter of months unless in a well-established tank with plenty of the correct sized food for them to filter feed.

OK did parameter test:
Salinity 1.023
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Phosphate 0.0
Cal >520
Alk 8 dkh
Added the cardinal fish from qt to the dt. Seems happy. Clean the glass tomorrow and remove the dead feather duster... Snails are eating it right now... Tank looks good. Next task is to get baffels in sump to stop the micro bubbles... I'm thinking of piecing together a box to put around the return pump made of acrylic...

What lighting are you using Sparta?

I really want to stress that you slow down, I know its exciting finding pods & whatnot but you relly need to slow down before adding livestock.
I waited 2 months after live rock before I added anything, never had many losses either.

Slow down. Listen to your elders if your friend isn't guiding you through this. Your not having a good start, a good attitude & patience will go far, research & good husbandry ,and do not freak out over little things without research first.

Okay, now that you are going to slow down (right?) what lighting is still over your tank?

Almost have my box built... Just need rubber seals to make it work... Might need your help on this one Justin.

I'm glad that you say say your taking it easy, it really is a waiting game as much as it sucks. Ha!

Lights sound decent. Some decent power heads & a good nutrient export regimen and you should be off & running smooth soon.

I try to treat everything that goes in my tank as my own friend/child/etc. Give them the best and they will treat you with years of enjoyment and its a great feeling!...and hard to part with them if you have to move....what I'm about to go through,it sucks.

I've got two power heads, one is 750gph the other is 1050gph. I have 120gph skimmer in a 30 gal sump on a 55 gal tank... I have about 60 lbs of live rock, and a DSB. Parameters check out... Everything has been stable for a couple weeks... Just had the feather duster in to soon... Bad placement too. Auto top of is awesome... I'm over all very happy with what I have right now... Just gotta deal with this micro bubble issue
