58 RR in wall underway

Great job so far not long to go. I had a similar project a few years ago with wife pregnant as well. I also went with a smaller in-wall tank. Here's an old pic just after framing around tank.

Looking very good as all have said. And congrats on the child. Wonderful news. I don't really think you need to use Krylon for the glass if it will be on the outside, but it's just as good as any other paint for that. You can and probably should use Krylon Fusion type paint to paint that darn white PVC down/pipe in the picture. Paint it flat black and hide it well. Then you'll be set.

Well, got the basboards finished in the living room/office. My OM Squirt came in, so I tackled the closed loop. Need to order some locline fittings to finish it. The Bottom PVC 90's are threaded to accept the locline adapters, so all thayt should be visible in the display are the black locline fittings. More pics!

Funny, I was thinking last night "maybe I should have gone bigger....Like a 90, ya know, four feet long but with some depth front to back" Someone slap me.

Nah, I slapped some sense into myself. I already bought a new 36" MH fixture, I would need a bigger sump, bigger skimmer...etc etc.....Besides, my wife would probably have me commited.

nice setup

about size i would take the opprtunity now to do a 5 or 6 foot tank you will envitibly want bigger fish and more room
beutifull setup though

Getting closer to adding water! Got my American DJ Power Center last week. My Sunpod came in today, $300 on ebay, couldn't pass up the deal. Built a stand for my skimmer, so I can use the center section of the sump for macro algae. Loc Line nozzles came in also....Just need to finish up some wiring and get ready for leak testing.

Which Sunpod did you get? Is it the 36" 2 x 150watt or the Sunpod Pro 2 x 250 watt. I've been looking at the 2 x 150 for a 58 gallon also. I'll be interested on you thoughts of that light.

It is the 36" 2x150 with the moonlight led's. I ran it today for a while, the internal fans do a great job of disapating the heat, and they seem quiet. Not sure which bulbs it came with, supposed to be 14k. I might just buy some XM bulbs before I add any inverts...

Built a ghetto skimmer stand as not to knock over the Aqua C. Had some scrap wood laying around. Also got the wiring done, added three GFCI's. Should have some more pics later on, starting to put the whiteboard up on the walls.

The drainline into the filter sock needs a a small piece of pvc that extends into the water (inside the filter sock), so that you do not hear the water splashing or the water does not splash outside the sump, andmake big mess..

KGood luck, and GREAT PICS, THANks

Thanx Bill, I have a piece of 1" pvc for that, I must have put it somewhere! :D

I figured you might have had that, just thought I best say something...

Other then that, you piping looks real clean. I did the same thing for marking the pipes at the fitting to get them to line up.

I found out that if you are off by a hair on those marks, (one side of the line or the other, that by thetime yo get to the other end of the pipe, it is about an inch off... That sucked.

I hear ya there! I also learned that by dry fitting the pvc, you always come up short by the time everyhting is glued. Just can't get them as far in the sockets when dry! LOL!
