Well you can always tell if someone truely has an honest opinion on the forrums. they make a negative post, then when confronted about it they run and hide. Everyone here is welcome to there opinion. however it would be nice to keep it alittle more professional. But please try and explain more clearly why you have a problem with a store. and when people disagree thats ok, cause everyone has a different experience, and definatly has different temperments. some people can have one bad experience and form that day on they hate the store. I feel sorry for people who seem to carrey a grudge around with them, its got to be depressing. I say we all forget any experience weve had at our local fish stores, and this weekend go visit them all again with an open mind. then report here monday with our new opinions!

Wow this has gotten intersting. As far as LFS I have always had a positive experience at CR but never at the Aquarium. I went into the aquarium about 3 weeks ago just wasting time before something. Even though I had not been in the store for about one year NOTHING has changed: over priced livestock, poor quality equipment, and rude employees that act like they are doing you a favor by lowering themselves by speaking to the public.
Examples: LR that looks like concrete from I-40 $10/lb
"Premium Fiji LR" because it is purple $15/lb
My wife telling an employee that they had a dead oranda in a tank and several others about to die and his response, "Yeah I don't have time for that." Instead of thanks I will take care of that.
When we were leaving hearing a different employee and a customer discuss an nano tank:
Customer: "What makes it a salt water tank?"
Employee: "The salt."
Customer: "Well I was thinking of putting a bunch of clownfish in a tank."
Employee: "Yeah you could do that or add a few angels to it too."
This was a 24 gallon nano tank btw.
So this customer will probably spend $1000 on equipment and livestock only to fail. She will return to the Aquarium, ask what is wrong and be told "Buy this". After several months of failures and deaths she will give up.

If you want good advice go to the CR, if you know what hardware you need go to the Aquarium.
I have not had the opportunity to go to 5th Day, but it sounds like it is having a nice start.
The key with any LFS is the people that work there. If it is a job, well it's the salt, but if it is their passion, then they can give you good advice.
That's why I go to the Coral Reef.

This thread really has been pretty interesting. Heck there are over 85 replies so far. I love all of the opinions. It is interesting that pretty much all are are the same except for the one guy that evidently works at the Aquarium. Kudos to all of you guys.

Equipment 5th day has MR Skimmers, Top of the Line pumps, Tunze stream pumps with multi controller, geo reactors, etc...
If you want equipment you go to 5th day!
Livegoods exotic and normal 5th day has! Scolys, rics and yumas, softies, ORA coral, sps, fish as in exotic fish they have. Did I mention they are a good store?? LOL!

I think the revrand is getting kick backs from 5th day creations, that almost sounded like an advertisement!
