600 gallon Acrylic and Glass Reef Construction.

Wow,

Ton of growth on corals and fish activity is awesome.

Cave on right side is really great.

Hey Greg,

Its been a while, hows things with you?

Paul.

I`ve been busier than the proverbial one legged man in the so called contest. The corporation that I work for is moving one of their companies out here from Calif. I have made 2 trips to San Diego in the past month getting things ready.

Then since we are shutting down a foaming operation that we already have here I have been taking care of that, as well as getting the new building ready to move things into. Sooooo besides all that I have been laying hardwood flooring in my in-laws house. Mind you this is not the laminate flooring, this is the 2 1/4" hardwood strips. :D

So I`m not busy at all LOL....

Hows about you? I sure miss the COMAS meetings.

The Tang-tainer is out of retirement....
Now its an Angel-tainer.

Just picked this guy up from Tyler- Thanks Tyler, he/she is stunning- and very FAT.

This should really add a splash of color to my tank.
He has already been out eating, within a few minutes of adding to the tank.

I'm jealous. Beautiful fish. I've wanted an angelfish for a long time. I just worry about them eating corals.

From my reading, of all the angels the flame is probably the most Reef safe. I am sure there are people who have had them nip at corals, but the benefit of buying from loacal reefers gives some ideas of their personality and preferences.

The flame doesnt seem stressd at all and no one else in the tank is paying it any attention, so he may get released later today.
Paul.

Paul - fascinated by your Tang-tainer. How do you hang that with the Euro-bracing in your tank? You may have covered that in an earlier post, but I missed it. If I introduce any more tangs into my tank (and I suspect that I will), that would be a great item to put together following the QT period.

Is that a pink-tail trigger, Paul? The ones I've seen seem a lot lighter than that...

How is teh Clown Tang behaving? I simply must have one. :)

Time for a few updates:

Laurence, yes its a pink tail. I have had him quite a while. He changes color a great deal, some days he is a very pale olive with a black eye stripe, then others a deep lustrous green. Of all my fish he is has the most personality and actually appears to follow my movements around the room. He also like to affectionately bite my fingers on the assumption that if it is in the tank its for him to eat.

If my hand is in the tank, he leaves me alone, but a finger...irresistible. Probably due to me feeding him shrimp.

The clown tang is doing fine. He still does not eat prepared foods, only algae, but he is fat and happy. With tanks the size we have there is plenty of grazing space.

George: the tang-tainer has two pvc pipe runners that extend out from the top and they hang on my tank bracing at the side and the middle. You are welcome to borrow mine. Should you build one, have at least one clear side- acrylic- so the fish can clearly see each other.

In the last two weeks I added over 30 new corals to the tank. Most are small but a few are decent sized. Ill get some pictures posted soon.

Paul.

as promised:

Here are a few of the new corals on a ledge. There is a Hawkins echinata, a green polyped on pink stylo, a ponape birdsnest, hoksemi acro, and a bunch of unknowns.

You are welcome to borrow this, the "tainer" is about 2 feet and the arms are about 4 feet, so if your opening is suitable...in she drops. I also have an eggcrate lid for it.

Striking color compared to when you put it in your tank and it appears to have grown a good bit as well.

Thanks for the pic.
