600 Gallon Upgrade Build

Happy birthday (sorry for beeing late to congratulate) :)

Looks better and bettet every time I check in here!
I didn't realise how bloody giant your naso tangs are, until
I saw your last full tank shot :)
Amazing, stunning, beautiful!

Best wishes
Mat

P.S. Just 3 weeks to go until I can collect my new tank from
the factory :)

Thanks for the birthday wish Mat. I love my tangs even though I have a bad obsession for them. I have to go to tang counseling pretty soon.

Maybe we can find more people on here and launch a support group ;)
Saves the money for the psychologist, which then can be spend for...
tangs ^^

UPDATE!!!!! Every time I come to my build thread it's never good.

So I'm going to play a game with everyone and if you can solve the puzzle then I know you're a true reefer. Ok. Here's the situation.

Tested my water this weekend.
Calcium - 400 ppm
Magnesium - 1200 ppm
Alkalinity - 5.8 dKh
Nitrate - .25
Phosphate - .11 ppm

Here's the kicker. I've went from 10 Dispar Anthias and Lyretails Anthias to one Dispar and 3 Lyretails. Can you guess why this happened?

It's September. They've gone back to "school". :D

Carpet diving? Stray voltage (is the system grounded?) Fraternal bullying? Bullying by something else? No corpses to diagnose?

Some part of your system pushed a lot of ro water into the tank? Wait...no that makes no sense. Alk is low but doesn't account for fish loss directly. Ph? Salinity? Amonia due to fish loss? Grasping at straws now.

Salinity is 1.024. And alk played a little part of fish death and acros.

Ok. Here's what happened. First of all it's sorta my fault. I don't have a ph meter in my calcium reactor. The alk is low due to adding to much co2 to my reactor. But I had it on it's lowest setting. The calc reactor clogged up and co2 was being added to the tank thus depletion the o2 in the tank.
