It's truly an honor to hear that comment coming from you. If you should decide, I'd like to know what really grows on wrecks. You can only research through the Internet.
Thanks Ice. We will see what will happen in the near future.I really like the wreck- I think by the time everything grows in it will really be a neat part.
ThanksThis is a very kool build
Thanks for the knowledge anbosu. Do you dive?In my experience, anything and everything! The corals sometimes seem to grow in greater concentration on the wrecks than anywhere else. Not sure if it's because of the lack of competition or what.
Thanks thefuz. I greatly appreciate your comments. I'm presently using aragonite sand. I actually need to add a few more bags.Man, the rockwork here is totally awesome. Nice job! I was looking for inspiration on my 250 gallon and this does the trick.
Curious on the substrate though. Is that fine grand sand? Trying to figure out what I'll be going with. I have CaribSea Seaflor in my current 90 gallon. I like b/c it's relatively easy to keep clean but prefer the look of finer grained materials.

Thanks Osama.Nice Wayne > Love the rock formation and choice of corals and fish... I have used Carib Sea sand and find myself now covering it with a thin layer of crushed shells as my MP60s even though they are high on the tank they do create and undesirable lifting of the sand particles and covering of the corals ( a bit) with the fine sand which is a nuisance IMO.. Very enjoyable tank and thread
The clowns are/were a breading pair and that was the pot they came in. I want to remove it and maybe add an anemone in its place. Just don't know which one.Wayne,
I have only dove ship wrecks in the Caribbean - no planes but in my experience whatever grows on a natural reef will grow on the surface of the wrecks including the undersides with sun corals & other NPS corals and sponges. The surface gets covered in coralline, barnacles, all sorts of sponges & corals and the fish seem to love the protection they provide.
Long story short & as previously stated, anything and everything.
Cool idea - looking forward to seeing everything filling in.
Just curious as to what the story is on the flower pot in there? I would think the if you put whatever your clowns host with in front of it they would use it to lay their eggs on.

Thank you sir. As for the Moorish Idol, I lost him about may or June of this year. Even though he was eating everyday, he was out competed for food and I believe that's how I lost him. I would love to get another one but him against 14 tangs would be another lost battle.Things are looking good. Congrats, its been a long road.
Do you still have the Moorish Idol, I didn't see him in any of the pics? Mine is doing great, very fat and eats way too much. Most corals I put in there he decides to taste it for while. Completely destroyed some nice pieces I was growing out in my FRAG tank like a very nice Favia, and he likes to pick on my Chalice's. That is why they say the MI is reef safe WITH CAUTION, but he is such a beautiful fish.
In or on?I would add a "nem" to the pot - that would look pretty cool.
In or on?
Yea I know. That's what scares me with anemones and SPS.Put wherever you like but chances are it will move to a spot it likes.
I figure stability is the key.Careful with nems, mine travels my entire tank each day in a new spot...
Thank you very much rickasa.Very cinematic!! That plane wreck is a really great idea for what is sure to become a signature to an awesome reef creation. Love the rock work...keep up the good work.
Thanks aquaph8. He's being a B hole to the regular hippo.Things are looking great Wayne, I've always loved the yellow belly hippos!
