Hi Wayne,

have you considered the ATI Flex System?

I have seen the prototype in person and I am really
excited about it. Complete flexibility and upgradable as much as one likes.
No more LED Spotlighting but a T5 character with shimmer.
All ATI Bulb colors.

That thing is just amazing.
It is due to come out next spring.
Sorry that this interview in the link I posted is german only. But he shows the Flex System, so that you can get a visual impression at least.

I too have been looking at LEDs, maybe a DIY setup, however I am also considering a Cebu fixture from Hamilton that has T5 in it also. That way I can run 4 bulbs on my tank a few hours b4 and after the halide comes on. This will lengthen my viewing pleasure. Not sure if 4 t5 bulbs out out enough light though.

That was my ideas to do custom fixtures. I back researched what spectrums for chlorophyll A and B. But I know no more MHs for me.

Hyper violets, true blues, royal blues, 5000K whites. I have a friend who has this configuration over his tank and his corals are loving it. I might even add some limes to the mix. I am going to see if I can get BML to sell me their LEDs that mimic the Iwasaki 6700K MH bulb and if I can then they will replace the 5000K LEDs.

Never new they had a kit. I don't think it'll fit the heats inks I've already premade. Maybe I can adjust the kit to them.

I actually have loved those lights since the first time thy came out. I also thought about mimicking their light and the leds that they use or close.

Orphek said I need 4 if I run them front to back. I was thinking 5 just to be safe and 1 over my frag tank.

I love that light too!!! I contacted Rapidled about ordering a unit that mimicked the orphek too!!! But the dual kit that is a mimic of the radion is the route I'll likely go...
