What salt did you use?
What LEDs are you deciding between?
Red Sea coral salt, not the pro. For zeo I need that salt since it's closer to NSW. As for lighting I might try a combo with T5s

Hi Wayne,
if you like to try LEDs in combo with T5s,
I can highly recommend the ATI Led Powermodul series.
I use them for nearly 7 months now and love them.
My corals started growing much faster and colored up
really nice.
I know it is quite expensive, but in my opinion it really is
one of the best fixtures available.
Greetings
Mathias
gonna be awesome like everything in this built!
WOW... I was waiting to say anything until you got the water in it, I did not want to jinx it...
Very nice Wayne!
Where is that video?
Wayne when I put my old metal halide Aquamedic fixture on the for sale threads allot of people pm'd asking me exactly how big the HQI bulb section was. Apparently people are buying 4 x 39w / MH combo fixtures and then swapping out the MH section with an LED. I really thought that was a cool idea and it literally cost pennies on a dollar compared to buying an ATI or Pacific sun fixture. I am not knocking those companies or fixtures at all. Just saying that with people selling used MH fixtures for literally nothing this can make a nice DIY project for a handy guy like yourself. I my self run 400W radiums and just have LED strips for the actinic lighting so I didn't care to keep the fixtures.
I see a lot of people going back to mh. I had my go at LEDs and I'm not saying they don't work because there's a lot of successful led tanks but I just wasn't happy with mine. I'm doing mh on my next tank because to do LEDs would be too expensive and I'm not much for DIY lighting. I don't need the dimming and special effects that are on most fixtures now. I just want my lights to turn on and off when they're supposed to and grow coral! Just something to think about.
no way you would need 8 Wayne. The Hamilton Cozumel reflector has a 30x30 coverage so you could do two rows of 3 and could use 250w bulbs based on your height.
You can go with 400w se bulbs and run them for 4 hours a day. It's more then enough. They do get very hot and you will need a chiller which will run often.
very nice tank build
Looking real good Wayne
I just bought myself a couple of AI Sol's led fixtures with my profit sharing for the price I got I couldn't refuse
Can't wait till the weekend to get them installed![]()

Very nice.
The lighting will really make it pop. How is the window tint doing?
