600 Gallon Upgrade Build

Well first thing..... Good thing you put down that liner. How about the sump seams?

Yes that was a good thing. Looks like I will have to dry that area up completely and watch it closely and see where it forms. I hope it isn't the sump. The company that built my sump is backed up with other builds. I will see what they can do if it is the sump seam.

What is it you added last ..Check it out first and work from there If I remember you just placed those reactors under the tank. any of those joints leaking .. Wetness is frustrating as it travels and may not always be right by the puddle...

Those reactors are inside the sump near the returns. That's the last thing I did add. Going to get my towels now and clean up the water and start from ground zero and look for any leakage or drip/s.

Water can travel quite a ways, take a flashlight and confirm there is no water on any pvc seam, also make sure you didn't bump an emergency overflow and it's running down it.

Sonic makes a great point about bumping something. I did that a couple of times.

My problem.

based on that picture, IMO it looks like it is coming from the sump. You could also check the O-ring's on the tru union. I had one fall out and I didnt realize it. I would dry up the water and then wrap the unions with paper towel and put some paper towels down along the bottom of edge of the sump. you will find out where your leak is coming from. Thats how I would do it when I couldnt find a leak. Its sounds weird but it worked.

Consider eliminating those metal clamps in the long run..and if possible replace with glued or at least threaded joints. Always had problems in the long run with clamps, salt environment etc. May or may not be your present problem. Steve's idea of the paper towels is seconded here.. Good Luck

It's coming from the sump but no way near the unions. Actually I will use your technique and see what happens. I talked to the builder who suggested the same thing so we will see in an hour or so.

Thanks. Will update soon.

I just caught up with all your post since I last read it back in June. Its amazing how far you have come. Everything is looking amazing! I hope to get my tank going in a few weeks.

Thank you. It has been a project in the making considering being in the hospital twice during that time. Can't wait to see your setup running.

Leak Found

As it says, I found the leak. Apparently during an emergency combat roll under the tank when I bumped the return it loosened some of the connections. So I have to redo that side of the return again. :headwalls::furious::headwalls::furious::headwalls::furious::thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown
