600g FOWLR

We're nearing the end of the build. Ive only got a handful of pics left... thanks for bearing with me. Here are the upper returns (test run, right side).

The sand and corals are in and Ive added some rock to the front of the rock wall... it looks alot more natural to me. That's it for the aquascape but I have a few pics of the fish room to put up.

the PBT?

now i see why you said you was worried about introducing a fish(achilles) and it not working out. it would be tough as hell to catch a fish in your tank due to height and rock structure.

what is your feeding regimen? i see the lateral line bone on the PBT?

looks like all the work you put into the tank paid off. the rock-work looks great.

Ive been working out of town alot the last couple of months so the feeding schedule has suffered. Im out of town again this week but Ive called the wife and shes going to give the fish some extra feedings and some nori (which they havent had alot of since Ive been gone). Thanks for pointing it out and for the nice comments.

The corals came from DLmanwarren in Rancho Cucamonga Ca. but I dont have any numbers.
 
I love how those returns are hidden inside the rocks.
Can you give the exact recipe for how you created the putty for connecting the rocks?
Do you think it is strong enough to hold free standing rock structures together without the eggcrate?

Thanks, the concrete mix was 2:1 sand/portland cement and the water/acryl 60 was 1:1. When dry it is extremely hard and adheres to the rocks very well. I used it to join two rocks together (a test) and the next day I couldnt pull them apart. Im pretty sure that it would hold without the eggcrate but if it doesnt... dont blame me. :fun2:

Thanks alot. It did test my patience at times but Im glad its done and very happy with the way it came out.
 
Some pics of the fish room. We still park the car in the garage so I was limited on how big the room could be...it is 5'x12'. I wanted to have easy access to the top of the tank so I raised the floor 2'.

There is no room for a sump so the skimmer sits next to the tank. I had to raise the ceiling so the skimmer would fit. I had some moisture issues before installing this high tech exhaust fan. :p

I built a shelf/pan for the skimmer. There is a drain (just in case the skimmer overflows) that goes to a sink.

One of the FX5 canister filters... they are only used for flow and chemical filtration (no sponges). You can also see the intake and return for the closed loop.

The Hamilton "cozumel" 250w MH pendant and my homemade track. I just slide the light to the left when I need to work on the tank. There is also a row of double T5s on the front of the tank.

Wow impressive build man thanks for sharing. I'm sure you have inspired a lot of people with your rock work. Great job.
 
Simply amazing work!! Your level of detail on that rockwork is top notch. I wish I had the time to handle a project like that!!
