6055 question

Hi, I bought a Nanostream 6055 from AquaCave last week. Got it today.
Before putting it in my tank I decided to wipe it with wet paper towel. After I
disassembled the unit I noticed that Disc for drive (part # 6025.740) is missing.
And internal shaft has a little bit of grease on it. Is it normal?
My 6025 has metallic disc and no grease… That’s what got me confused..
Thanks in advance.

The disk for drive is it at the bottom of the hole, without a pick tool you will not be able to remove it. It is roughly 2mm thick and 5mm in diameter and may be white or black so it is a very small part. They put a small amount of vaseline on the shaft for a factory test run. A 6025 has the same disk, with the white disk the stainless steel disk is required. The newer black disk has graphite fiber in it and does not need the stainless steel disk.

Thank you for the response. So a little bit of vaseline is not going to harm anything in my tank or should I clean it? Sorry if it’s a stupid question , still learning.
