6105 problems starting??

So i have been setting up a brand new 90 gal system and i have purchased 3 brand new tunze 6105s. they are connected in sync with the aquacontroller 3 and teh aquasurf. i am have issues getting them started here i have no clue why. One ump like sends a little pulse out every 21 seconds the otehr just won't start, I am stumped tey are plugged into the wall ACS/surge protection incase of powerfailure and the transformers light up where teh jumpers are but no power any clues?? they are brand new!

If you disconnect from the AC3 and Aquasurf and just plug them in manually do they have the same problem?

i find that the connection where the aquasurf meets the tunze and where the power comes in.. that little black box its finicky i touch the wire and it stops then starts. I measured the output as 5.277 VDC so i checked teh jumper and now it outputs 18V.

These pumps seem to be fairly loud. Is this normal? i was always under the impression they were silent? I can hear when it changes from one flow to the next. Also when i touch that power wire where the power plugs in to the little black box it gets louder depending on how i move it?

Is this normal or do i have defective pumps. right now im only running two of three pumps so i kind of find it hard to beleive its defective since they sound the same? any suggestions?

I will let Roger chime in on the connections. I wonder if it is the aquasurf cables not the junction boxes causing the problems, that is assuming the wires you ment are the DIn cables and not the power cables... all 3 are doing this?

As for the noise out of the box I know tunze has been working on this and I believe have come up with a resolution but not sure if it has been incorporated to production. As is let them run a few days and they should start to quite down and wear in.

Excellant i will give that a try and let you know if the noise will reduce over time. Also it was the power source that enters teh black box, the round DC connection

The 6105 with the 18V jumper should be fairly quiet assuming you put the rubber feet on the back of the magnet holders. They may need to run for a couple weeks to wear in. Most of the noise issues I have seen result from not using the rubber feet, a defect in the magnet holder such as a blister that is touching the glass, or the front housing not being on properly. I have seen a couple pumps that the DC tip of the connector is loose. The fix for this is to open the connector and very lightly crimp the female receptacle with a pair of pliers. You are only trying to squeeze it a fraction of a mm.

I have the 18V jumper in and i think i will left it run its course i will let you know if i still have the noise in a week from now. I am only running 2 now taht way i can see if tehre was an improvement a week later
