No insults were intended, just skepticism of the projects long term
success. Often times things that the rich do seem "œsilly" to the not so rich; maybe jealousy? I wish you success and look forward to seeing more of the project. When your ready to add saltwater I suggest you call VIP Seawater, his truck hold about 6000 gallons of NSW.

conductivity meters are not reliable in my experience, I'd just check salinity after a storm and add salt as needed

I'm curious what sort of livestock that would entail? I know there's over 1,400 species of fish in Raja Ampat and somewhere about 1,500 in the Great Barrier Reef but getting most of them LEGALLY...not so easy. :) So I'm still curious what species of fish you're looking to stock with pleasant "above" viewing. Every reef I've flown, boated or swam over was only impressive if there was a cool shoal or school of something to create movement (this doesn't include the colors created by corals...or sharks or rays...just generic "fish").
 
Elliot: The meters are just a warning system for use in very rare circumstances when there is no one at the house at all. In-house staff will be trained to manually check SG post storm and take the necessary steps to adjust appropriately.
 
Fizz71: You used the exactly the right term -- shoal. Although there will be some typically solitary or paired species, most of those selected will naturally occur in groups and will be displayed as such since space certainly permits. But, we will not be announcing a species list until my client has made those selections himself.
 
So no issues in that volume of water with the relatively small amount of stainless steel that is exposed to saltwater? Or is this not going to have real corals?

No, sir. GAC is an effective countermeasure against leaching metals in small quantities proportionate to volume. The FMR that will contain carbon for this system is nearly 4' tall and 12" in diameter.

The intention is for this to be a "fish-only" system, but, I have a feeling corals and clams will find their way into the sunlit area of the pond, clams particularly.

I will be back in Miami next Wednesday for the day to finalize any pre-installation details that need addressing. LSS shipment and installation will be scheduled then and will likely (hopefully) be completed and fully operational by the middle of June.
