I agreed with you . When my friend told me that he has successfully extracted special bacteria strain from Mangroves. I took it with a grain of salt . Now when I saw what it did to my tank , I am now trying to make him produce more and go commercial so we can all benefit . Lets see what I can do as he is a scientist type of person , only want to win trophies not money :)

What about recognition for break thru in the hobby? Karen and Rufus just made the biggest break thru in the past decade in the hobby by breeding the personatus. Also Larry's reef frenzy and herbivore mix is the official food and sponsor of the personatus breeding project so you never know what you might have (or I guess your friend)

You convinced me totally . Now I will have to convince my friend. :)
 
Just put in 2 yellow tail tamarin wrasse yesterday . After burrowing in the substrate for a night . This morning both of them are happily eating frozen brine shrimp .

 
Now the tank is almost 100 % algae free from the work of bacteria extract from mangrove . Nitrate level is now down to almost zero .

Might sound a bit strange, but don't you have problems
with insects and so on falling into the tank?
I ask because I have this special problem every summer.
Our neighbors are farmers and they let their cows out that time,
so every time I open my window I find at least a dozen flies stucked in my
overflow or the skimmer pump...
Sounds funny, but isn't :)

Because I live in the city so there are no neighbours with cows :) Well I have not encountered problems from insects falling into the fish tank yet . But I will keep that in mind and will let you know.
 
Water quality and Diatom algae absence looks amazing!
Do any of the filtration units in the fish room, such as Ozone and UV, impact the efficacy of the bacteria extract?
I would very much like to be able to sample the bacteria if you go commercial.
It seems to be a large breakthrough in detritus-consuming heterotrophic bacteria for marine aquariums.

Cant wait to see more fish/coral, and more importantly, that beautiful dual sump system!

The UV does not have any impact on the bacteria extract. But the ozone does have a big effect on my mangroves so I have stopped supplying ozone via skimmer or using air stone but will be dosing it through the Ozone reactor. One thing I do notice is that when we put in Bacteria extract, the ORP will drop significantly for about 10 minutes before climbing up to the same level again.

Well, if it dos go commercial I will certainly keep you updated.

Everything is working perfectly . Fish are very healthy . All the water parameters are good except my mangroves . The leaves started to develop white powdery stain and some mangroves have died . Anyone can help me identifying the problem ?
