I'm not a professional carpenter but in my humble opinion this is a great design! I have built a couple before arriving at this one. What is great about it is that the front and half the top swings up and away, leaving the whole front and top of the tank exposed while at the same time leaving the metal halides bulbs in place so that there is light for you to work on your tank, take pictures, etc.
You would run the VHO's or T5's underneath the metal halide bulbs/pendants, parallel to the fron t of the tank. This allows the not as intense VHO/T5 actinics to be closer to the water.
This is the Canopy ONLY.
I have a truck in case you cant fit in your car. COuld be discussed.
