8 bulb ATI combo

The GE 6500 really brightens the tank and I feel it gives me good growth. I've never really liked the "Tidy Bowl" look with a lot of B+ bulbs so it's a good balance to my eyes.

I think if you're going for straight growth, go with all B+ and maybe throw a GE 6500 in there just to give another spectrum. The bad thing about the GE6500, I think it only comes in 48".

pretty sure tri uses a 36" in his fixture.

I agree with everyone here, gieseman blues are superior to ati. Visually it just doesnt look windex from having less green in the spectrum. I was running 2 to 1 gieseman to ati.

do you like the Actinic blue more than their Azure blue? I have a couple of those in hand along with purple.

I have only used the actinic blue. if I recall the Azure blue has more yellow and green spectrum. I was going to order some to try out some time ago and they were out of stock. My next order will order have a pair of these to compare.

The Aquablue Azure is similar to the Coral + but with less red in it. I like it much better thant the C+

I think that would close to a 12k look.
No need for ATI bulbs if you don't want. ATI tends to be a little cheaper that's why I use them

I recently changed all my bulbs and I switched the Coral + for a true actinic bulb instead. My goal was to slow down growth. Haha. I was hoping the actinic might give me better colors.

Also every time I change my bulbs I switch out all 8 at the same time. And I've never had to adjust my photoperiod. My corals don't seem to mind.

I run the same combo as Nick...did. I do burn them in for 48 hours at 100% prior to installing and I change two a week over a month. I'm in the process now and I might try the azure over the c+ since its getting great reviews here from people I trust and respect

Added the Geisemann Spectra 24" MH + 4 bulb T5 + reefbrite. going to play with some Geisemann bulbs first to see their actual color.

Going to try out the

Super Purple

based on this I will purchase the new bulbs for the 8 bulb ATI. as of now, I'm thinking:

What he means is that the yellowing power of the 6500 cannot be underestimate. You will see..

As it stands I bet you will think it's too "white"/yellow
