skimmer freak
ok ived used t5's for 2 of my 2.5 yr's in the hobby, sps dominated tanks always used od 36" 6 bulb with pretty good success, tried mh before wasnt overly impress, shimmer doesnt do it for me, and could always get slight shimmer with top heavy water flow with t5's, anyway's current set up is a 60g cube 24x24x24 and using a coralife pro 250w with pc antic's, was either thinking of doing a 8 bulb ice cap od set-up, or getting a 24" 8x24W Powermodule T5 High-Output Fixture w/ Bulbs, dont know if i can link, or getting a Lumen Bright 3 DE HQI and getting custom led for dusk to dawn with a ice cap ballast, just not really happy with current light, which way would you go, dont know how to post a pic of my tank yet

I'd go with the T5 setup. I'm so happy using them for their power consumption and the way they look - and I agree I have top flow and its a nice shimmer. Not the same but the look is just easier on my eyes. I've had great success with corals under them.

Have you thought about LEDs at all? I know they are pricey but you wouldn't have to worry about bulb changes for 7-10 years and you, I believe, can customize the color of the light (more white, more blue, touch ofa button?)

hey if your looking for a whole new spectrum of light try the ATI bulbs aqua blue "plus" and "special" ......check out the coral propagation forum and thread "coral maternity in portugal"
