900 Gallon Reef Project

It looks like you have have two outputs connected together on each 4 way. Doesn't this basically turn each 4 way into a 2 way?

Maybe you explained that earlier...but so many build threads I can't remember the details of each.

Ooo....no union ball valve on the intakes to the OM4ways. That is a problem when you want to remove the 4 way to service it.

What about a powder blue, powder brown, naso blond, or naso tang???

Here for the ride. Nice build. Can't wait to see the finished product. Its sucks that you had to wait, but i guess that could be a good thing in a long run. Thanks for sharing your build.

Yes one of the 4-ways is hooked up as a 2-way. This creates three levels of flow for 2 of the outputs: no flow, medium flow, high flow. It was something we discussed at length and we are going to test it out, I am concerned it could be too much flow for one output, but we shall see. Ill get a flow design graphic up later in the week.

Wow, amazing looking build. This is very impressive, can't wait to see the aquascape and the tank come together. As for fish, I know they are difficult but I think a moorish idol would look stunning in this tank. Good luck!

a Moorish Idol may be great in a few years once the system has matured.

are you doing a local biotope or will you have animals and corals from around the world?

I have never been more impressed with a build. I think I am more impatient for this to be full of water than you are :) I am really looking forward to seeing what that limestone back tiling looks like with water sand and rock. I think it is going to look epic.

This is a serious build, Benny !
Really keen to see it develop to full blown operational status.

One question - the limestone tile you've used for the rear wall cladding, is that what is commercially called "travetine" tile?

Travertine is a type of limestone tile, we used a standard limestone tile attached via silicon. Ill provide a link to the manufacturer later today.

I will be doing corals and animals from around the world, mostly focusing on Pacific critters. I will probably focus on keeping SPS and Clams, with a spot for Ricordia and a Mantis shrimp in the Refugium.

The lighting for the display tank is all LED with T5 for the fuge and the grow-out tank.
