i've had this skimmer for almost 2 months now. i think i got it dialed in as it is making a good amount of bubbles. but the skimmate im getting is more of like a light green in color. nothing really dark. and my tank is stocked pretty good with 4 fishes and lps and sps. if i look at the bubbles it is producing they are really white and clear....and im getting a lot of bubbles. i got my water level set at about 1/4"-3/8" below the water mark. my buddy is running a different skimmer on his same tank and he is really pulling out a lot of the dark colored skimmate and he only has 2 percs and a goby. am i missing something here???

thanks!

Different skimmers will vary in the skimmate produced and green skimmate would indicate you either have an algae problem or feed a lot algae based foods. You can get a darker skimmate by closing up the air flow a bit, but lighter skimmate generally removes more phosphate and tends to remove more organics overall.

skimming wet is the best way to do water changes :)

every time you remove a cup full of tea, replace with a cu full of fresh sw.

bad nutrients out, good nutrients back in.
