9005 Doc Skimmer position performance

I wanted to know how water turbulence would impeed the performance of the 9005 if it were to be next to the sump drainage outlet? I ask this question because the pump draws in water which will have such turbulence - how would something external such as another turbulent flow affect the skimmer? - I have the 9005 next to such outlet but no bubbles are present in the way it drains into the sump section. I can't change the configuration of the postioning, so is it still ok for it to be postionied this way? I appreciate the opinions.

thanks.

The biggest problems are micro bubbles from the skimmer and the turbulence may reduce the skimming action inside the skimmer as the action would carry over to the water in the skimmer.

Hi Roger - thanks for your reply, however - the microbubles are enclosed by the unit - the only turbulence that is created would be the skimmer's pump - surely? If for example, there was water turbulence outside the unit - that water would be taken up by the intake of the pump and mixed with air, so why would turublent water have any effect on the way it is introduced to the skimmer the first place..? Or am i misisng something here?

The turbulence does carry over into the skimmer if it is extreme. The water pressure will push water into the inlet in surges and interrupt skimming.
