9005 In High Flow Area

I use my 9005 internally and have the shutter wide open for maximum extraction. I noticed in the intructions it says to locate it in a calm area or the performance will be compromised. This is impossible for me as I have 80x turnover in the tank. It is working fine, it just releases some bubbles from the bottom. Since I have so much flow around the skimmer wouldn't I still have a fairly high freshwater intake, even with the shutter closed? I can live with the bubbles, but would rather not if the performance won't suffer greatly.

Try closing it a little bit and see. It will have an effect but it may not be that great of an impact on the skimming.
