9010 to external drain?

Hello,

I am getting ready to order a 9010 skimmer. I've been reading on the tunze forum here, but want to make sure...

There is an old laundry drain next to my sump.

Can I plumb the skimmer into the drain so the collection cup doesn't overflow into the sump if I'm travelling?

Is this a bad idea?

The collection cup cannot overflow, it pushes down the foam column and stops skimming when full. We sell a drain set 9020.14 if you wanted a drain system instead.
