9010 trouble - help from Roger please

Hi Roger,

I've had a 9010 for quite some time now. Its a great skimmer. But one day I noticed that the impeller had seized. I took everything out and cleaned it all in vinegar. It looks new, with no deposits, but the impeller still gets stuck. It gets stuck because of the brake shoes. Is this a worn impeller or dying motor block? The impeller really appears to be in fine condition, so I was thinking maybe the motor block is just not providing enough power to kick the motor back into the right direction.

what should I do? is there a cost-effective way to fix it? any chance I could mail it you for diagnosis (only if you think its probably fixable).

The motor is the old hydrofoamer, which has been replaced by 9006.040.

It is likely the drive unit has just worn out, they should be changed after about 3-4 years. The brakes wear and will hang up and a new 3000.600 should solve it, but you must change all included parts. The other option would be to upgrade to the 9011.040 motor (9006.040 is for 9005/9006).

thanks! the new pump is more then i'd like to spend but the $30 drive unit is very reasonable. i'll give that a shot.
