Very happy to hear things stabilized for you! Just goes to show how healthy your SPS were before the outage, well done! Congrats on the new additions as well, I bet getting SPS frags from the US is pretty difficult?

Thank you Josh, things are improving, but yet not the best coloration and the growth stoped too but there are corals that are starting to improve, only an Acropora Valida and another one are slow in STN in the middle of the coral.

The big problem was losing the Regal Angel, I was devastated, I hate losing fish, so that all fish I have are with me for 7 years in 3 different tanks (Regal was 3 years with me) ... but now it's time to move on!!

We in Portugal can only afford US corals if we travel over there and we bring it in the suitcase in the hold of the plane and pray that not overtake us in the custom house!!

Sorry to hear about your loss man!

Can you guys get PennPlax Silent B11 pumps over there?

They will run for up to 5 days on a fresh pair of D cell batteries. You plug them in, and turn them on. When the power is on, they do not run. As soon as the power cuts out, they start pumping air.

I just use some thin rigid air tubing and leave that in an inconspicuous spot in the tank. This way if the power goes out while I'm away from the house, the tank is still oxygenated enough.

Just a thought.

Thank you so much!

Joao,
Sorry to hear about the Regal Angel and issues with STN, I am sure it is a passing that holds heavy on your heart. I was never really a fish kind of person, but over the years I have grown fond of fish in our sps tanks, and I always feel bad when this happens. I recently purchased a yellow coris wrasse, my melanarus bullied him out of the tank, I was super bummed. Hope to see a speedy recovery! Regards,

Hello my friends...A quick update after little crash, I only lost 3 acroporas and my lovely Regal Angel...well I bought a new one!! This time from the Red Sea:

Yep not even touch them, the other one I had from Indonesia, nipped ocasually. They are Reef Safe only with SPS corals, don't try zoas or LPS otherwise...you know!!

Thanks!

Interesting how the rock is floating, not sure how I feel about it but havnt seen that before

I was inspired in a aquarium that appeared 2 years ago in Hong Kong, I think it was the first with this idea of floating. At the time I was projecting my cube tank and found the idea, I always liked minimalist layouts and this type allows you to have a better water flow and do not let the detritus pile up on the sandbed.

A friend of mine took a few photos with his Iphone that I like to share with you

Love the look of this tank...

Not sure if it is because it is different then the usual pile of rock or if it is because it is just the right amount of coral.
