A corner in Taiwan

Holly cow, I did not realize this frag is a red staghorn !? I hope someday it can grow like the second photo.

Hummm.... I need to get the color back first:headwally:

Below is what I got from LFS today for FREE, dark green body with light blue tip. I love it although it is damage a bit when live in LFS. The LFS owner is a friend, and he hope my tank can help this one recovery.

Wow, if that frag turns into anything close to the 2nd photo you have hit a small jackpot! That will be a stunning coral.

Love your tank, amazing set up

Some close friends/reefers call me "control freak". Hahaha

See why I am a control freak…

I just added my fourth GHL dosing system, up to 16 dosing pumps work for me now….

Excellent new frags.

I am deeply appreciate friends donation.

Indeed. This friend told me he spent tons of effort and hundreds of US dollars to get a one inch frag. Giving it to me since my tank looks very stable.... Man, that's lot of pressure, I almost consider return it to him....:wild one:

Woah! That is a lot of pressure on you my friend...I'd be scared to hold expensive frags for friends...

You better take good care of it and sing to it before you got to be every night...That should keep the acro happy.

He actually cut the original frag to two, one for me and one for another senior reefer in Taiwan. The bad news is the other one just died, now I really feel the pressure.

My friend suggested me clean some space for this frag because he worth a VIP spot. :headwally:

You better sing to this coral all night tonight and make it happy...because if anything happens to it...your friend will: :fun2:

Just joking my friend.

SPS corals are tough...as long as the coral isnt already severely stressed. In a tank with stable and good water chemistry I hope you can show nice photos of this coral in a few months time. :)

You still not move this Emperor to VIP location?

Where is the VIP location?cans it the Presidential Suite? - Somewhere high in the rocks with good flow and good light and excellent view of the reef floor below...

Joe's tank with full and strong lights, some of coral can not suffer this kind environment.

That is why we suggest him to move somewhere suit it.

Moreover, Joe's tank has too many "big" and "strong" sps, so finda good place for it is very important.

Very nice end of year shots.

I love this one:

Ok link not working. I am talking bout the Echinata.

I love the blue and white colour...and the delicate structure is just pretty sweet.

How long have you had this one? Did it come with those colours or did it colour up in your tank?

I have it about 6 months. The blue and white color start popping up on one branch which has direct light from my HQI, and another branch which under shadow of other coral is brown color. Both branches grow will with healthy PE, but obvious different color on one SPS. I usually show this coral to my friends to explain how important tank light is. I can take another branch picture tomorrow.

The first one and two pictures are for the same acro. echinata; first one under direct light which has more blue pop-up, but second one has very less light which turn most brownish color

Thanks for the additional photos. I have been feeding my fishes and corals quite heavy recently and I can see the blue tips on my Echinata have become very intense blue.

Excellents!... Some reefers in Taiwan keep high nutrition (PO4 = 0.08~0.1, NO3 = 1) and has excellent color on SPS with strong light light. I may give it a try later.

I dont use any of them yet though.

What do you think of TM A- trace element & TM K+ trace element? Does it make a difference to your coral colours?

Thanks.

Happy New Year to Sahin and everyone in US. Taiwan already turn to 2014, you are next.

I am hoping TM A-/K+ can help my coral color a bit strong, butter like color, especial the red staghorn frag. However, people warm me they will bring color darker, but only after I try it to find out:p

Happy New Year to you my friend.

I prefer the darker/strong colouration on my SPS rather than the pastel/Zeovit style colours.

I will start using the TM A-/K+ sometime next year. Right now I am testing with increased feeding to see if I can get my corals to colour up a bit more.
