well i got my stand skinned and am having it delivered monday. We are going to put the doors, finishing molding and tile the inside when its in place at my house to make it lighter.

the corners are going to have maple molding to hide that joint

ok guys i know its been a little bit since the last update. I have the stand made and stained, hood constructed , skimmer and powerheads bought, and the tank shipped after much awaited anticipation. it should arrive by 5/18/11 and have to still lay the flooring in the basement between tank moves
ON a positive note I got some premium Live rock from premium aquatics, manado LR and boy it is amazing. I got uncured and am curing it myself but it is amazing the colors are lime green and peach, and hot pink it is truly amazing rock id recommend it again in a heart beat. I will post pics of my updates stay tuned!

oh i will unfortunately we decided to last minute tile the basement so i have to wait till we get that done.

well guys I finally got the tile floor down and the stand and tank in. here are a few pictures of it .

Well guys it has been a long strangle road, but the of the time ,effort and patience I have put into this has paid off . Here are acouple pictures of the tank cycling and a preliminary aqua scape. Im not sure I like it yet as the water is a bit cloudy and am waiting to see it under clear water but what do you guys think? The only things running now are the return,heaters and the skimmer.

Well Id like to say that I am so glad I took my time with this build. If its one thing Ive tried to get the hang of in this "hobby" is its having patience and follow through on my dream of building a beautiful captive reef inside my home. I feel that I have properly laid the groundwork for longevity and elegance for my reef for years to come. I am pleased to present all of you with the final product. I hope you enjoy

Nice build thread and nice to see a new crop of reefers here on STRS. Really like the scape and the LEDs. Are the LEDs boughten or DIY? At any point did you think about doing a peninsula stile tank? Can’t really tell by the pictures of the room but it looks like it might have worked. Do you have any pictures of your current tank and is it a reef or FOWLR?
